The Real Estate One Charitable Foundation proudly hosted its 21st Annual Screen Door Open “Fore” Special Olympics Michigan on Thursday, June 11, at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth. What began more than two decades ago as a way to support a meaningful cause has grown into the Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year.

This year’s outing was a record-breaking success, raising $65,000 for Special Olympics Michigan, surpassing the previous fundraising efforts by more than $2,200.

The sold-out event welcomed 216 golfers for a day of friendly competition, networking, and giving back. Support from the community was overwhelming, with 29 business sponsors helping make the outing possible and contributing to its continued growth and success.

Participants also had the opportunity to win from an impressive collection of donated prizes. In total, 123 prizes valued at more than $24,435 were generously contributed by businesses, branch offices, agents, and affiliates. The family of companies affiliate, John Adams Mortgage, also added excitement to the day by sponsoring a special Hole-in-One vehicle giveaway.

“The success of this event is a direct reflection of the generosity and commitment of our agents, employees, affiliates, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners,” said Kristen Thompson,  Interim Director of REO Charitable Foundation. “Every golfer, sponsor, prize donor, and volunteer played a role in helping us achieve this milestone and support the incredible work being done by Special Olympics Michigan.”

Funds raised through the Screen Door Open directly benefit Special Olympics Michigan, helping provide year-round sports training, athletic competition, leadership opportunities, and health programs for thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.

As the Real Estate One Family of Companies reflects on another memorable outing, we extend our gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and sponsored the event. Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of Special Olympics athletes throughout Michigan.

We look forward to building on this momentum and making an even greater impact in the years ahead.
